St. Thomas refresher on Catholicism
St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 1500 Brookdale Road, Naperville, will offer an eight-part film series, “Catholicism 201,” from 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesdays, Jan. 11 through Feb. 29.
The Rev. James Mallon, founder of the John Paul II Media Center that produced the series, will explore, discuss and help viewers connect with the foundations of Catholicism. Among the topics: the sacraments, the church itself, Mary and the saints, and troubling questions of morality.

German Christmas service at St. John
A German Christmas service will take place at 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 24, at St. John United Church of Christ, 1190 Olesen Drive, Naperville.
Pastor Prof. G. Henley will lead this service. “Stille Nacht-Silent Night“ will be sung in candlelight at the end. Babysitter is available. Call 630-355-5208.
A German service also will take place at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 1, and the first Sunday of each month in 2012.
7th annual World Peace Day
