Thinking of spring? With it will come the cycling season, so now’s the time to start thinking about your ride. Whether preparing for a triathlon or just a fun ride, Naperville and surrounding areas have many trails to offer.

As with most sports, good gear is essential. Why not build your own unique carbon-fiber bike?

ProjectOne is a solution offered by Trek, a concept bike shop since 1976 with shops in more than 25 countries. “Building perfection, one bike at a time,” is their motto.

All it takes are four simple steps to build your custom bike: Choose your model, choose your styling, choose your components and choose your fit. It does come with a stiff price tag, about $5,000 to $6,000 and more.

The online program might be too daunting, so stop in the Naperville shop for some professional guidance and to get a taste of the products.

“We are all serious cyclists ourselves here,” says Sean Dawoodi, store manager. “We are into it! It’s like a family here,” he says of the atmosphere created by owner Greg Nesypor, service manager Chris Wilson and himself.

“We also offer more affordable solutions, most bikes at the store start at a few hundred dollars,” Dawoodi adds.

Trek has been in Naperville for two years at 3416 Route 59, just south of 95th Street.

Visit www.treknv.com for information on this specific location or www.trekbikes.com.

Call 630-778-8877 to ask for schedules of their seminars, or stop in with your bike for repairs.

“We repair any brand bike. And our tune-ups are $70,” Dawoodi adds.
