Most of us have found ourselves with a gift card to a store we will never use, or we’ve stood clueless in front of a gift card display unsure of which to pick for a friend, loved one, teacher or colleague.

The Downtown Naperville Alliance offers what they have deemed “the perfect gift,” a gift card good at more than 150 shops and restaurants in downtown Naperville.

“It is really the perfect gift. Recipients can choose where to use it in downtown Naperville. There is something for everyone,” says Katie Wood, executive director of the Downtown Naperville Alliance.

“It is valid for any amount between $10 to $500,” Wood adds. “We just had a business make out gift cards for $20.13 for the year 2013 as a gift for their employees.”

The gift card, featuring a street scene of downtown Naperville, is sold online at www.downtownnaperville.com or can be purchased at these four locations: Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce, Heaven on Seven, Twisted Olive Imports and Elan Boutique.

Balances easily can be tracked online or by calling the toll-free number listed on every gift card.

A special spring design is in the works.

“The spring card aligns perfectly with graduates, Mother’s Day, Teacher’s Day, and are also sold through the school’s Manna programs at a slightly reduced price to help schools,” Woods says.

All gift cards are enclosed in a gift card jacket, which lists the 150 participating businesses for convenience.
