Zinq Designs owner Pamela VanDeursen says Naperville is ready for the next level of design in home remodeling and building. The coming recently relocated from St. Charles.

“I love this town, and it feels right for our business profile,” VanDeursen says. “We are a rare and unique blend in the design build industry, as we do it all from cohesive design build to remodeling to interior design to outdoor living spaces.”

The company offers full-scale design build from the architectural drawings to the final build out for any size home, including kitchens and baths, wine rooms, room additions or even new home construction.

“(Naperville is) a community of young urban families that are chic and hip, and maybe throw in edgy,” VanDeursen says. “We believe in green building and design as well and are truly a one-stop shop,

“Our outdoor living spaces are low maintenance with a unique blend of natural stone patios with water features and custom fire pits.”

VanDeursen of Naperville supports local female artisans and is hosting a Zinq Gallery Walk Sale of art through October. Each month a new artist will be featured as an extension of their design service.

The company is working on projects in Naperville, Chicago’s North Shore and South Tampa, Fla.

Primed for success

Helping college students find jobs

Name: Primed to Impress

Where: 608 S. Washington, Suite 207, Naperville

Call: 855-477-4633

On the web: www.primedtoimpress.com

Naperville resident Carolyn Rowe designed the Primed to Impress program for college graduates when her youngest son graduated from Northern Illinois University in 2009.

At the time, it seemed like he and his friends were up against great odds in finding jobs in the downward spiraling economy. She wanted to ensure that they had every advantage when interviewing.

“We believe that our program helps parents breathe a sigh of relief because their son or daughter has direction in their job search, is prepared to be impressive, and is out of the house making connections and having conversations that will lead to that job offer,” Rowe says.

The official launch of Primed to Impress was May 21, and although the business is in Naperville, it has no geographical boundaries because it offers an online learning program interface.

“It’s a much different scenario than sending off resumes to online job postings that seem to get lost in cyber space,” Rowe says.

The program covers all the basics of a job search, such as creating a distinctive resume and understanding how to network into the hidden job market, and builds graduates’ communication skills.

Where: 2135 CityGate Lane, suite 300, Naperville

Call: 630-780-1083

On the web: www.AdzZooChicago.com

AdzZoo Chicago, based in Naperville, is an independent advertising office owned by Kenneth Moore and Ginny Kronsted, and is supported by more than 80 independent representatives throughout the Chicagoland Area. The U.S. offices were opened in 2009.

AdzZoo is dedicated to helping businesses reconnect with their local markets.

“While the internet has changed the face of business forever, one large business segment has been left behind: the local business owner,” Kronsted says. “AdzZoo implements a complete geo-targeted online presence providing these owners a solution that allows them to compete with national chains and major corporations.”

They develop a significant web presence for local businesses in an area that is largely dominated by national chains and companies.

“As small business owners ourselves, we know the challenges that face the small- to medium-sized business,” Kronsted says. “(We) offer a comprehensive portfolio of services designed specifically to fit within the budgets of the locally owned business while still providing a significant improvement in their online presence and customer acquisition.”

“Helping the local business owner compete in today’s market is our passion.”
