Friday, Jan. 24
Driving too fast: About 6:35 a.m., unidentified motorist’s vehicle struck school bus near 75th Street and Millbrook Drive; at-fault driver told police he was blinded by headlights of oncoming vehicles; motorist charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident/driving too fast for conditions.
Vehicle burglaries: Between 8 p.m. Jan. 23 and 9 a.m., unlocked garage and unlocked car entered on 300 block of Pearson Circle; unspecified number of compact discs and “paperwork” stolen; during same time frame, and on same block, second unlocked vehicle entered; report did not indicate what, if anything, stolen.
Marijuana possession: About 7:35 p.m., unidentified male or female charged with possession of 30 grams or less marijuana on 1200 block of West Jefferson Avenue; report provided no further information.
Illegal alcohol possession: About 8:42 p.m., unidentified motorist stopped for driving vehicle with broken taillight near Chicago Avenue and Ellsworth Street; police found 60, 12-ounce cans Keystone Light beer and bottle of Ronrico Caribbean Rum behind driver’s seat; motorist charged with illegal possession of alcohol.
Saturday, Jan. 25
Driving under the influence: William M. Ghighi, 26, Oglesby; 1:08 a.m. near Van Buren Avenue and Main Street; charged with two counts DUI and one count driving without headlights on vehicle.
Contributing juvenile delinquency: James P. Weaver, 21, LaGrange; 2 a.m. at 440 S. Brainard St., on campus of North Central College; charged with contributing to delinquency of minors by hosting party where liquor served.
Unlicensed driver: About 8:51 a.m., unidentified woman stopped in vehicle near North Aurora Road and Industrial Drive; charged with driving without a license.
Hit and run: Between 9:30 and 10:42 a.m., motorist lost control of vehicle and struck large, city of Naperville electrical box near Breckenridge Lane and Plainfield-Naperville Road, and then drove away from area; motorist described as white male in late teens or early 20s, driving black car, possibly Honda Civic.
Revoked license: Casey L. Neeley, 41, 30W600 block of Whispering Winds Drive; 6:13 p.m. near North Aurora Road and Route 59; charged with driving with a revoked license and improper lane use.
Fugitive: Robert D. Spencer, 34, Milwaukee; 10:21 p.m. on 400 block of East Bailey Road; charged with being fugitive from justice and wanted on warrant; companion Davelle Going, 31, Milwaukee; charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and possession of 2.5 to 10 grams marijuana.
Sunday, Jan. 26
Drug possession: Benjamin G. Kowalyshen, 22, 500 block of Delkir Court; 12:02 a.m. near Aurora Avenue and Village Green Road; charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, driving without insurance and speeding.
Drug paraphernalia possession: About 12:24 a.m., unidentified male or female charged with possession of drug paraphernalia on 700 block of Benedetti Drive; report provided no further information.
Hit and run: Josh Selman, 24, Warrenville; 12:28 a.m. on 1500 block of Route 59; charged with leaving scene of accident involving vehicle damage, failure to yield while turning left and driving without insurance.
DUI: Alexander J. Kellie, 21, Sugar Grove; 12:51 a.m. near Hobson Road and Washington Street; charged with two counts DUI and one count speeding.
Driving too fast: About 9:01 a.m., unidentified motorist lost control of vehicle on slick pavement; vehicle left roadway and struck traffic light pole near Chicago Avenue and Naper Boulevard; motorist charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident/driving too fast for conditions.
Driving too fast: About 9:48 a.m., unidentified driver of Mazda lost control of vehicle on slick pavement; vehicle left roadway and struck wooden telephone pole near 111th Street and Route 59; motorist charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident/driving too fast for conditions.
Driving too fast: About 10:23 a.m., unidentified motorist lost control of vehicle on slick pavement; vehicle left roadway and struck street sign near Ogden Avenue and Route 59; motorist charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident/driving too fast for conditions.
Vehicle damage: A 20-year-old woman reported between 2 a.m. and 4:05 p.m., rear window damaged on blue, 2004 Nissan Xterra parked in driveway of home on 800 block of North Brainard Street.
Theft: A 76-year-old man reported between 5:15 and 7 p.m., locker broken into inside men’s locker room at XSport Fitness, 2780 Fitness Drive.
Shoplifting: Douglas W. Grillaert, 58, 600 block of Balmoral Circle; 7:54 p.m. at Menards, 715 Fort Hill Drive; charged with retail theft.
No insurance: About 8:07 p.m., unidentified motorist charged with driving without insurance, following two-vehicle, rear-end traffic crash near Worthing Drive and Washington Street.
