Wednesday, Aug. 14
1Aggravated battery: Shar Dzaferi, 36, 1400 block of Fairway Drive; 12:28 a.m. at his apartment; charged with aggravated battery of peace officer and resisting peace officer.
2Trespassing: Louis Adams III, age and home town not provided; 3:06 a.m. at condominium complex on 1500 block of West Jefferson Avenue; charged with trespassing, for returning to area after having been given “no trespassing” warning previous evening by building manager and police.
3Vehicle burglary: A 48-year-old man reported between 7 p.m. Aug. 13 and 9 a.m., laptop computer, computer carrying bag and unspecified amount of money stolen from unlocked vehicle parked outside home on 2500 block of Dewes Lane.
4Shoplifting: Renata Didjurgiene, 35, Aurora; 1:46 p.m. at Whole Foods Market, 2607 W. 75th St.; charged with retail theft.
5Marijuana possession: Raymond E. Gockman, 44, 11S600 block of Webster Lane; 4:42 p.m. near Argyll Lane and Scots Drive; charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license, disobeying a stop sign and driving with a defective windshield or window.
6Suspicious incident: Between 5 and 5:21 p.m., coin-shaped metal slugs found atop newspaper vending machine on 1100 block of East Ogden Avenue; slugs gathered by police for destruction.
7Unlicensed driver: Timeka L. Taylor, 22, Maywood; 7:30 p.m. on 1800 block of West Diehl Road; charged with driving without a license and driving without insurance.
8False police report: Gregory S. Adkins, 55, Ventura, Calif.; 8 p.m. at Dick’s Sporting Goods, 2763 W. 75th St.; charged with making false report of offense.
9Trespassing: About 9:21 p.m., 15-year-old boy or girl found trespassing on Naperville Park District property, Jackson Avenue and Webster Street.
10Excessive speeding: Eric T. Scheblein, 22, Plainfield; 10:45 p.m. near White Eagle Drive and Route 59; charged with driving 40 mph or more over posted speed limit and improper lane use, after patrol officer’s radar showed him driving 99 mph in a 45 mph zone; Scheblein offered police no reason for speeding.
11Suspended license: Natalie A. Taylor, 32, Joliet; 11:25 p.m. near Stoney Brook Drive and Naper Boulevard; charged with driving with a suspended license.
12Driving under the influence: Jon R. Halasz, 34, Orlando, Fla.; 11:55 p.m. near Red Roof Inn, 1698 W. Diehl Road; charged with two counts DUI and one count speeding.
Thursday, Aug. 15
13Battery: Laurie J. Linder, 52, 600 block of Leesburg Court; 12:01 a.m. at home; charged with battery.
14Shoplifting: About 12:48 a.m., 25-lb. bag of Morton water softening salt stolen from stack of bags outside Jewel-Osco, 1227 S. Naper Blvd.; “witness observed a male subject in his 20s pull a red bandanna over his face” prior to taking bag; man then got inside “a white, older-model sedan and drove away with two other subjects ... also wearing red bandannas over their faces.”
15DUI: Andrew P. Beoletto, 22, Bloomington; 1:24 a.m. on 700 block of East Hillside Road; charged with DUI, after police patrol officer saw “a white pickup truck with several subjects in the bed, screaming;” Beoletto failed sobriety tests administered by police.
16Property damage: A 31-year-old man reported between 4 p.m. Aug. 14 and 7:05 a.m., food thrown onto vehicle and part of home on 1000 block of Saratoga Road.
17Vehicle burglary: A 69-year-old man reported between 6:45 and 8:11 a.m., window was shattered and wallet stolen from vehicle parked at Naperville Park District’s Nike Park, near Diehl Road and Mill Street.
18Theft: A 41-year-old woman reported between 12:50 and 1:10 p.m., iPhone 5 stolen on 1900 block of Three Farms Avenue.
19Shoplifting: Between 4:19 and 4:34 p.m., unspecified number of Nintendo DS video games stolen from GameStop, 216 S. Main St.; “subjects were seen on video taking video games and were arrested (later) on a traffic stop.”
20Theft: Sometime before 6:56 p.m., city of Naperville stop sign and mounting post stolen from intersection of Redstart Road and Swallow Street.
21Property damage: About 11:15 p.m., front exterior glass door damaged on unidentified business on 1500 block of Aurora Avenue.
