Saturday, Aug. 17
1Theft: A 43-year-old resident of the 0-99 block of West Gartner Road reported between 8 a.m. and 4:15 p.m., unspecified amount of money stolen from her wallet while she was at work.
Sunday, Aug. 18
2Trespassing: Joseph C. Hill, 28, Warrenville; 2:01 a.m. at house on 300 block of East Benton Avenue; charged with criminal trespass to residence, after he “entered the residence and passed out on the living room couch.”
3Police assistance: About 2:42 a.m., police assisted Illinois State Police troopers on 1600 block of West Diehl Road, in search of unidentified male or female who ran from scene of traffic crash on Interstate 88.
4Driving under the influence: Alex Dawson, 22, Arlington Heights; 2:50 a.m. near Franklin Avenue and Washington Street; charged with DUI and following another vehicle too closely.
5DUI: Ali Irshad, 30, Montgomery; 4:16 a.m. near Aurora and Ogden avenues; charged with DUI, improper lane use and driving with an expired registration.
6Disorderly conduct: A 40-year-old man reported between 11:30 p.m. Aug. 17 and 6:45 a.m., rolls of toilet paper tossed into branches of tree and what appeared to be fecal matter smeared on driver-side window of vehicle parked in driveway of home on 2200 block of Woodland Circle; man told police “this has happened to several other neighbors over the last two months;” extra police patrolling of area requested.
7Theft: A 53-year-old woman reported between 12:01 and 11 a.m., son’s specialized, red and white Hard Rock BMX bicycle valued at $100 stolen from front yard of home on 400 block of West Gartner Road, while son was at friend’s house for sleepover; bike was unlocked, with $15 chain and lock attached to bike at time of theft.
8Theft: Steven J. Smith, 52, Joliet; 12:10 p.m. at Lexus of Naperville, 2480 Aurora Ave.; charged with theft of 11 tires, along with criminal trespass to building and driving with a suspended license.
9Vehicle burglary: A 39-year-old woman reported sometime before 12:21 p.m., and for second time in past several weeks, vehicle burglarized while parked outside home on 1400 block of Fairway Drive; iPad stolen from floor of vehicle.
10Theft: A 13-year-old girl reported about 2:13 p.m., she bought two pairs Fila athletic shoes at unidentified store on 200 block of South Route 59 and left them with father; while father was in fitting room, shoes stolen by black man in his 30s, with thin build and short black hair, and wearing red T-shirt and bluejeans.
11Theft: A 28-year-old man reported between 3 and 11:59 p.m., catalytic converter sawed off car parked on 2800 block of Patriots Lane.
Monday, Aug. 19
12Marijuana possession: Latrice C. Channell, 34, 1100 block of Estes Court; 12:41 a.m. near Burning Tree Lane and Mill Street; charged with possession of marijuana and making improper turn at intersection.
13DUI: Roy L. Weil, 21, 1300 block of Creighton Avenue; 3:11 a.m. near Hillside Road and Washington Street; charged with two counts DUI and one count improper lane use.
14Burglary: A 30-year-old man reported between 11 p.m. Aug. 18 and 7 a.m., burglar made entry through open garage door of home on 1900 block of Golden Gate Lane, and stole his iPad, $20 from his wallet and wife’s iPhone.
15Property damage: Between 12:16 and 8 a.m., drive-through window damaged at Walgreens, 2719 111th St.; damage estimated at $1,000.
16Burglary: Between 5 p.m. Aug. 16 and 8:15 a.m. today, ground-floor air duct pushed inward at church under construction on 2400 block of West Diehl Road; all of church’s newly-installed copper piping stolen, along with new and temporary water meters; total loss estimated at $9,000.
17Vehicle damage: A 58-year-old woman reported between 8 p.m. Aug. 18 and 11 a.m., scratch etched into finish of passenger side of black BMW parked outside home on 700 block of Milton Drive.
18Theft: A 45-year-old woman reported between 12:01 a.m. and 2:56 p.m., 26-inch Next bicycle stolen from her apartment on 700 block of Inland Circle.
19Dumping: Sometime before 6:01 p.m., on 400 block of Olesen Drive, “numerous items of garbage left on curb, including hazardous chemical;” fire department notified of chemical; no emergency situation occurred.
20Suspended license: Steven T. Simmons, 19, 30W000 block of Valencia Court; 7:24 p.m. near North Aurora Road and Amersale Drive; charged with driving with a suspended license, driving without insurance, driving with an expired registration and improper use of registration sticker; unidentified passenger who owns vehicle ticketed for allowing unauthorized person to drive vehicle.
