Sunday, Sept. 15
1Theft: Andrew G. Smith, 23, Wheaton; 2:24 a.m. on 0-99 block of East Chicago Avenue; charged with theft.
2Driving under the influence: Kaitlyn N. Smith, 21, Aurora; 4:41 a.m. on 2500 block of Sheehan Drive; charged with two counts DUI and one count failure to notify secretary of state’s office of address change.
3Suspicious incident: About 8:15 a.m., police called to 1200 block of River Oak Drive, because “lawn mowers on Sunday in the rain seemed suspicious to several residents.”
4Shoplifting: Vanessa Diaz, 24, Aurora; 3:18 p.m. at Whole Foods Market, 2607 W. 75th St.; charged with retail theft.
5Failure to yield: About 4:15 p.m., unidentified motorist ticketed for failure to yield right of way to pedestrian who was struck in crosswalk at Jefferson Avenue and Main Street; pedestrian suffered minor injuries.
6Shoplifting: Suk C. Moon, 37, Gurnee; 4:28 p.m. at Costco, 1320 S. Route 59; charged with felony retail theft for taking four bottles of alcohol from store without paying for them.
7Suspicious incident: About 5:47 p.m., neighborhood resident walking her dog noted tire tracks leading to edge of pond near Genesee and Woodewind drives and called police, fearing vehicle was underwater; no vehicle found in pond.
8Unlicensed driver: About 6:06 p.m., unidentified motorist struck other vehicle near Ferry Road and Raymond Drive; ticketed for driving without a license and failure to yield right of way while making left turn.
9Theft: A 19-year-old man reported between 8:45 and 9:30 p.m., unlocked bicycle stolen from behind Mr. Shesha Coffee House, 1570 W. Ogden Ave.
10Theft: A 45-year-old bicyclist reported about 10:30 p.m., he was run off road by vehicle and forced to jump off bike near Chicago Avenue and Charles Street; he later found eyeglasses and cell phone, which had been in his pockets, missing; man returned to area, but could not find glasses or phone there.
11Police interference: Bradley J. Tucek, 23, 2300 block of Weatherford Lane; 10:53 p.m. at home; charged with interfering with police.
12DUI: Gabriel Huicochea-Lopez, 29, Aurora; 11:19 p.m. near Mimi’s Cafe, 2656 Showplace Drive; charged with two counts DUI and one count driving without a license.
13DUI: Christopher R. Russo, 45, Plainfield; 11:40 p.m. near 75th and Washington streets; charged with DUI, disobeying a traffic signal and improper lane use, after his black Cadillac was observed running red light while traveling south on Washington Street from Jefferson Avenue.
Monday, Sept. 16
14Suspicious incident: About 3:32 a.m., unidentified “suspicious person” stopped near Conan Doyle Road and Ashbury Drive; report provided no further information.
15Vehicle burglary: A 21-year-old man reported between 10:30 p.m. Sept. 8 and 12:41 p.m. today, combination television-radio stolen from vehicle parked on 2900 block of Rutland Circle.
16Shoplifting: Christopher W. Mohr, age and home town not provided; 1:58 p.m. at unidentified business on 1500 block of North Aurora Road; charged with retail theft, for taking bottle of gin from store without paying for it.
17Suspicious incident: A 44-year-old woman reported between 2:30 and 2:45 p.m., unlocked back door found open at home on on 2200 block of Remington Drive; no entry made, nothing stolen.
18Harassment: Gauri N. Bhamare, 19, 100 block of Cedarbrook Road; 3:59 p.m. at the Naperville police station, 1350 Aurora Ave.; charged with two counts telephone harassment and one count knowingly damaging property.
19Theft: A 17-year-old boy reported between 2:15 and 5:45 p.m., unlocked bicycle stolen from outside Fry Family YMCA of Metro Chicago, 2120 95th St.
Tuesday, Sept. 17
20Burglary: Between 3 p.m. Sept. 16 and 7:21 a.m., red, 5,000-watt generator with “Sequoia Contracting” in black letters stolen from 1900 block of Springbrook Square Drive.
