Monday, Sept. 2
Vehicle theft: A resident reported that between Aug. 23 and Sept. 2, someone stole his 1983 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham from the carport in the 400 block of East Bailey Road.
Thursday, Sept. 12
Forgery: A woman told police that she provided her personal and banking information to an individual who promised to loan her money. She reported that between Sept. 9 and 12, the suspect then forged at least three checks and removed $7,346.17 from her PNC Bank checking account.
Sunday, Sept. 22
Vehicle damage: Between 1 and 9 p.m., the catalytic converter was taken from a vehicle parked in the 2800 block of 95th Street while its owner was at work.
Vehicle damage: Between 7:30 and 9 p.m., someone scratched a van parked in a lot in the 400 block of Aurora Avenue.
Monday, Sept. 23
Right of way violation: An unidentified driver was ticketed for failure to yield after pulling out of the driveway at Speedway, just west of Raymond Drive and Ogden Avenue on North Aurora Road, into the path of another vehicle at 7:50 a.m.
Suspended or revoked license: One unidentified driver was cited for driving with a suspended license and another for failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash after their vehicles were involved in a rear-end collision about noon near North Aurora Road and Route 59.
Failure to reduce speed: An unidentified driver was ticketed for failing to slow down to avoid an accident after causing a minor collision at 75th Street and Modaff Road at 1:20 p.m.
Right of way violation: An unidentified driver received a ticket for violating another motorist’s right of way after their vehicles crashed at Ogden Avenue and Feldott Lane at 1:34 p.m.
Failure to reduce speed: An unidentified driver received a citation for failing to slow down to avoid an accident after rear-ending another vehicle at Grassmere Road and 248th Avenue at 2:07 p.m.
Failure to reduce speed: Police ticketed an unidentified driver for failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident after a crash at Gartner Road and 75th Street at 3:29 p.m.
Suspended registration: An unidentified driver was arrested for driving with suspended registration at 4:44 p.m. near Naper Boulevard and Interstate 88.
Driving without insurance: An unidentified driver received a ticket for driving without insurance after rear-ending a car that then hit a third car ahead of it at 6:15 p.m. in the intersection of North Aurora Road and Ogden Avenue.
Theft: A woman reported to police about 8:56 p.m. that her cat and furniture were missing from an apartment she formerly shared with her ex-husband in the 600 block of Center Street.
Tuesday, Sept. 24
Right of way violation: An unidentified driver was ticketed for violating another motorist’s right of way after causing a two-vehicle crash at 12:01 a.m. at Village Green Road and Aurora Avenue.
Mob action: Three men were charged with multiple counts of criminal damage to a vehicle and one count each of mob action after an incident at 3:13 a.m. in the 700 block of Royal St. George Drive. The suspects include Geoffrey J. Daniel, 20, 2100 block Schumacher Lane; James A. Williams, 27, 900 block North Sleight Street; and Matthew A. Barrera, 21, Shorewood. Williams also was cited for unlawful possession/sale of fireworks and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Driving without insurance: An unidentified driver was cited for driving a vehicle without insurance, after hitting an arrow road construction sign while headed south on Route 59 just north of North Aurora Road at 3:41 a.m.
Failure to reduce speed: Police cited an unidentified driver for failing to slow down to avoid an accident, after the motorist rear ended another vehicle at Quincy and Ogden avenues at 7:17 a.m.
Driving without a valid license: Cary L. Bednar, 30, no address provided; 7:29 a.m. near Plainfield-Naperville and Leverenz roads; police said Bednar was cited for driving without a license after she “harassed and behaved in a manner so as to alarm and disturb” an adjacent driver.
Failure to reduce speed: An unidentified driver was ticketed for failing to slow down to avoid an accident after hitting another motorist’s rear bumper at River Road and Raymond Drive at 7:52 a.m.
Right of way violation: Police cited the unidentified driver of a 1998 Ford Windstar after the motorist caused an accident by pulling out in front of an oncoming 2002 Honda Accord in the intersection of Benton Avenue and Wright Street at 8:30 a.m.
Failure to reduce speed: An unidentified driver received a citation for failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident at 12:12 p.m. near Naper Boulevard and Diehl Road.
Theft: Quintin J. Montgomery, 25, 200 block of North Whispering Hills Road; 12:57 p.m. at 776 S. Route 59; charged with retail theft and an outstanding Batavia warrant for criminal damage to property.
Disorderly conduct: A truck driver was cited for disorderly conduct after tossing a tricycle into a Dumpster in the 4600 block of Corktree Road about 1:45 p.m.
Theft: Between 4:45 and 6 p.m., the combination padlock on a gym locker at the LA Fitness at 1836 Freedom Drive was forced open, and a gym member said his belongings were taken.
Driving without a valid license: An unidentified driver caused an accident and was cited for failing to slow down to avoid the collision, and for having an expired driver’s license, at Chicago Avenue and Julian Street at 4:51 p.m.
