Naperville police on Monday turned to the public for help in finding those responsible for trespassing and apparently trying to steal property on five occasions from a municipal electric department facility on the city’s far north side.
Naperville Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrests and convictions of those responsible for the incidents at the electric department property at 171 Shuman Blvd. It lies just south of Interstate 88 between Washington and Mill streets.
The most recent crime occurred about 11:45 p.m. Nov. 12, police Sgt. William Davis said.
The trespasser or trespassers forced open the fence surrounding the property “and entered the grounds with the apparent intent to commit a theft,” Davis wrote in a release.
That incident “marks the fifth time in three years subjects have entered the property in this manner,” Davis said. “Nothing of value has been kept at this location for some time for this reason.”
Eyewitnesses to any of the property damaging or trespassing, or those who believe they have information about the case, are asked to contact police Detective John Reed, at 630-305-5920 or email@example.com.
Witnesses and others can also call Naperville Crime Stoppers at 630-420-6006. Callers can remain anonymous.
