A look at Naperville's Young Entrepreneurs Academy

The Naperville Chamber of Commerce’s Young Entrepreneurs Academy helps to foster the entrepreneurial spirit and ambition in local youth. The Young Entrepreneurs Academy teaches local students between grades 6-12 valuable business and life skills. Here is a look at what you can expect when you enroll your child in the Young Entrepreneurs Academy.

Mission of the Young Entrepreneurs Academy

The Young Entrepreneurs Academy was founded with the mission to encourage an entrepreneurial spirit and business knowledge in area youth. Today’s business world values innovation and business skills, and it’s important to help students learn important skills that will serve them for a lifetime.

Class structure

Between October and May, students will design and implement their own unique business model. At the end of the year, each student will be able to operate a fully functioning business. In addition, classes will meet with entrepreneurs and businesses in the local community for hands-on education and real world applications. These mentors provide valuable insight into what it takes to succeed in the business world.

Enrollment information

Enrollment in the Young Entrepreneurs Academy starts in the spring of each school year. Classes meet once a week in the evening. Students have access to tools such as a computer lab and classroom area. The program is sponsored by local business partners.
