Great Lakes Volleyball has grown from its original site in West Chicago with four courts on 20,000 square feet to a 90,000 square foot facility on 5 acres in Aurora. Established in 1990 and expanded to the Great Lakes Center in 2003, GLV offers the largest volleyball camp and clinic program in the nation through state-of-the-art facilities fit for athletes of all levels.
Great Lakes Center has twelve courts built on three layers of plywood and 54,000 pieces of rubber, which offer a soft playing surface to help you sharpen your game. There is a full time retail store on site along with a huge weight training facility where you can stay fit and active through every season. Parking is available for over 500 cars, and there is 10,000 square feet of viewing space overlooking eight courts within the facility.
Clinics and camps
GLV participates in summer camps around the country with programs taking place at GLC. There are also a number of skill development clinics for school-aged athletes, college-bound players and adults. These cover a wide range of skills and encourage individual player development through drills and one-on-one instruction. Coaches can hone their own skills at one of GLC’s Coach Education Clinics coming in April.
GLCYA teams and clinics
The GLCYA or Great Lakes Center Youth Academy was created as a way to promote volleyball at the youngest age levels kindergarten to seventh grade. The GLCYA program is a great way to introduce your daughter or son to athletics. Training focuses on motor skill development and allows athletes to maximize their potation. The coaching staff is very friendly and they help create a fun environment for the children to learn.
