No parent should have to bury their child. Unfortunately, there is no known cure for the most common fatal genetic disorder to affect boys: Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). This genetic disease affects approximately 1 in every 3,500 boys—and 11-year-old Ryan Karlin of Naperville is one of them. Ryan was diagnosed with DMD on April 15, 2008; shortly afterward, his parents started Rally for Ryan.
Marty and Geri Karlin started the Rally for Ryan to help find a cure for this devastating disease. All money raised by Rally for Ryan goes to researchers and organizations that are diligently trying to find treatments and ultimately a cure for DMD.
Now in its fifth year, the annual Rally for Ryan Gala Event & Raffle will be held at the White Eagle Golf Club in Naperville on Nov. 16, 2013. In addition to a performance by the band AKA, this year’s Rally for Ryan will feature an exclusive raffle for 10 tickets to watch the Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks from the comfort and luxury of a private skybox. There will also be an auction hosted by Joel Langer. For more information about the fifth annual Rally for Ryan Gala Event & Raffle, please visit RallyforRyan.org.
Cadillac of Naperville has been a proud supporter of the Rally for Ryan foundation, and they will continue to support the Karlins as they raise money and awareness about Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
