Downtown Naperville is the perfect place to kick off the New Year, whether you are looking for family-friendly fun or an adult celebration after dinner downtown. The celebration downtown is free to attend, and it will include an early New Year’s countdown as well as a grand countdown at midnight. Here is a closer look at what you can expect celebrating your New Year’s Eve in Naperville.
Early New Year’s celebration
If you want to be home for the evening with your kids, you do not have to miss out on a traditional New Year’s Eve countdown. Naperville Mayer A. George Pradel and CLTV anchor Dolly McCarthy will be leading a countdown at 6 p.m. The countdown will take place once again at midnight at the Carillon on Rotary Hill. The festivities for the late countdown kick off at 11:15 with music and dancing.
The daytime festivities begin at 12:30 p.m., when families can check in at Main & Jefferson for a schedule of events—including face painting, magic, juggling and fortune telling. There will also be a scavenger hunt that will take you through downtown solving clever clues.
Goodies and giveaways
After the scavenger hunt, 50 families with the correct answers will be randomly selected to win $50 dollar Downtown Naperville gift cards. You can also enjoy free trolley rides and Shutterbox photos all day long. Just before the early New Year’s Eve countdown begins, stop in at the Riverwalk Eatery for a free hot chocolate compliments of My Chef Catering.
