Raue Center for the Arts is bringing a touch of Broadway to the Chicago area with upcoming performances of the award-winning hit She Loves Me. This show will be running from Feb. 7-16, just in time to bring some added romance to Valentine’s Day. Here is a closer look at what this wonderful show has in store for audiences at Raue.
Romance for the ages
She Loves Me delivers heart-warming romance through the story of star-crossed lovers caught in a tangled romance in the spirit of Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan in the 1998 film, You’ve Got Mail. Backed up by the Williams Street Repertory, stars Deric Gochenauer and Katherine Damisch play Georg and Amelia offer an honest and sentimental performance that promises to tug at your heart strings with a touch of nostalgia.
Cast and crew
Roger Zawacki is director of this romantic production, and is thrilled to be a part of this musical after many recent successes in the Woodstock Opera House and Riverview Theatre. The complete cast will be a mix of experienced Williams Street Repertory performers and new-comers who are excited to hit the stage for such a warm and charming show. Williams Street Repertory is coming off four BroadwayWorld Chicago Awards for their earlier musical, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. This production also features work by Cat Wilson, who was recently honored with the 2013 Joseph Jeff Award for Lighting Design.
