AURORA — Aurorans, prepare to be rocked Friday night.
Local favorites Dbl-Shot and American English will provide the soundtrack for the Fan Favorites night at the Downtown Alive! concert series.
Dbl-Shot covers ’80s rock, using two lead singers and often playing back-to-back songs from different artists. They take the stage at 6:15 p.m. at North River Street park, at River and New York streets.
American English, a favorite Beatles cover band in past years of Downtown Alive!, performs at 8 p.m.
“It should be a great night on the river, with American English,” Paramount Theater marketing manager Melissa Mercado said. “People love them. They’re a great band.”
Admission to Friday’s show is $3 per person, with children under 12 free. People interested in sitting through the show are advised to bring their own chairs, according to the Downtown Alive! website.
Several local restaurants will be selling food at the festival, including Ballydoyle’s, Comfort Zone Barbecue, the Wurst Kitchen and others. A complete list of vendors is available on the festival web site, www.downtownaliveaurora.com.
There will be plenty of street parking and city lots available. Mercado said officials are expecting a strong turnout, but this show is focused more on a local crowd than the national crowd that Blues on the Fox regularly draws.
The show is the second of three shows in the series. On Aug. 12, the bands 28 Days and 7th Heaven will play for Rock on the Fox.
