Lucinda

Age: 3 years

Breed: Domestic Shorthair

Background: Surrendered due to previous owner moved

Personality: Affectionate, likes to be petted and playing with toys

Adoption fee: $25 through June 30

Other: All animals at Naperville Area Humane Society have been examined for health and temperament, are up-to-date on vaccines and have been microchipped. They are spayed and neutered at adoption.

Hours are 5 to 8 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays, 1 to 6 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays and noon- to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Stop by at 1620 W. Marlena

Age: 7 years old

Breed: Labrador retriever

Background: Marlena was brought to ADOPT in a shelter transfer from Kentucky.

Personality: Marlena is one of our spectacular seniors. She has a happy-go-lucky temperament and is eager to please.

Bananas

Age: 7-1/2 years old

Breed: Domestic short hair

Background: Owner give him up because of his son’s allergies.

Personality: Bananas is the world’s biggest love bug — all 21 pounds of him!

Adoption Fee: $50

Oscar

Age: 8 years old

Breed: Cocker spaniel

Background: Oscar was brought to ADOPT in a shelter transfer from Southern Illinois. Oscar was not well cared for before arriving at ADOPT. He had ear infections that have since been treated. He has been here since May.

Personality: Despite the painful ear infections, Oscar is a sweet and easy-going dog. He’s got a stubby tail that wiggles when he’s happy. He’s well mannered and very calm.

Gracie

Age: 3 years old

Breed: Terrier mix

Background: Shelter transfer due to lack of space

Personality: Gentle, affectionate and shy when there is too much activity. Good with dogs and cats.

Patches

Age: 1-1/2 years old

Breed: Catahoula heeler mix

Personality: He is definitely among the sweetest dogs on the face of the earth – you’ll just melt looking into his big, brown eyes. Patches has a relaxed, laid-back personality and likes nothing better than keeping you company. Very well-mannered, he tends to stay by your side, even off leash and comes readily when called.

Other: Neutered, current on his shots and house trained

Eddie

Age: 2 to 3 years old

Breed: Jack Russell mix

Background: Eddie was picked up as a stray in Kendall county.

Personality: Eddie does very well with other dogs and cats. He loves to be outside playing, so he needs a fenced in yard.

Other: He is currant on all shots and has been neutered.

Brandy

Age: 3 years old

Breed: Shepherd-heeler mix

Personality: Brandy is a truly sweet-natured girl who enjoys the quiet life. She likes lounging around the house and snoozing in the sun. She gets along great with people of all ages and loves to play with dogs of all sizes, although she responds best when introduced properly to new dogs. Cats are an unknown quantity, but she’s been known to politely ignore them at the vet. However, she is the “great protector” of the backyard and will keep all the squirrels, chipmunks and birds at bay! She adores being brushed, especially if it includes a good belly rub.

Other: She’s still learning some of the finer points of good manners, so she’d be best in a home with older kids or all adults. She is already spayed, housebroken, crate-trained and current on her shots.

Molly

Age: 4 years old

Breed: Domestic short hair

Background: She was urrendered due to owner allergies

Personality: She is playful, friendly and very social, and good with other cats and possibly with a cat-savvy dog.
