Catholics in Joliet Diocese fund anti-poverty projects

The Catholic Campaign for Human Development is attempting to address the problem of poverty by providing grants to self-help programs initiated and led by poor people. These groups help create sustainable jobs, preserve affordable housing, improve neighborhoods, and enhance opportunities for people so they can find a dignified way out of poverty.

CCHD has grants available for qualified low-income grass roots organizations. Eligible groups must be working for empowerment of the poor, education for justice, or solidarity between poor and non-poor in the community.

Learn more about the grants and about groups funded in previous years at www.paxjoliet.org/cchd. Applications from groups in the counties of DuPage, Grundy, Kankakee, Kendall, Iroquois and Will will be accepted through March 1. Applications can be obtained online or contact Steve Jackson at 815-834-7283. Email or mail applications to: Diocese of Joliet, Office for Human Dignity, Catholic Campaign for Human Development, 401 W. Airport Road, Romeoville, IL 60446-2264, or sjackson@dioceseofjoliet.org.
