Happy new year! Time for change. Time for some healthy risk taking. Many cycle in the same behaviors that do not benefit anyone. Why? Because it’s comfortable?

It’s important to become comfortable with the uncomfortable.

If you are comfortable with abuse by a loved one, it is time to make a change and ask yourself why it is OK to become immured to such a thing. Again.

If you are too comfortable, you will not feel like making a change.

But if the comfort is causing physical and emotional pain and distress, then it’s time to make a change and become comfortable with life without the drama.

Are you comfortable with chaos? Are you comfortable with conflict? And are you comfortable with the present cycle you are in. It could be binge eating or restricting foods.

Or even a need to cheat on your spouse because it is familiar and comfortable. Self injury. Weight loss. Divorce. The list can go on and on.

Explore your need to remain in the same cycle. Sometimes it could be fear. Not knowing if you will survive a life that is new or different.

It is the new year! And it is never too late!

Call your support system.

Make a new and healthy plan for yourself.

Find a new definition of love for yourself.

Assert yourself with your abuser and step away from the cycle.

Happy new year! Find the new you! It’s your year! Own it!
