NAMI DuPage offers education course for families

NAMI of DuPage County will offer the NAMI Family-to-Family Education course for families and caregivers of people diagnosed with mental illnesses. The course is taught by trained family members. All instruction and course materials are free for class participants.

The Family-to-Family course focuses on current information about schizophrenia, major depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, borderline personality disorder, PTSD, and co-occurring brain disorders and addictive disorders. The course discusses the clinical treatment of these illnesses and teaches the knowledge and skills that family members need to cope more effectively.

The 12-week series of classes will start at 7 to 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, in Wheaton. For information or to register, visit www.namidupage.org or call the NAMI DuPage office at 630-752-0066, ext. 210.
