Youth Ambassadors host All-City Dodgeball Tournament Feb. 24

Updated: March 7, 2013 6:36AM

Teams from all five Naperville high schools are invited to compete for the coveted title of 2013 Dodgeball Champion. The Naperville Park District Youth Ambassadors will host the second annual tournament at 1 p.m. Feb. 24 at River Woods Elementary School, 2607 River Woods Drive, Naperville.

The 2012 tournament drew more than 120 participants and an enthusiastic group of more than 100 spectators. The new location at River Woods School will accommodate additional teams and spectators.

Teams must register for the event by Feb. 20. Team packets are available from each high school’s Youth Ambassador Liaison or at the Naperville Park District’s administration building, 320 W. Jackson Ave. Teams may have six to eight members and must include at least two female participants.

The Youth Ambassadors is a group of high school students who work with the Naperville Park District to plan community-wide special events for teens each year, such as Battle of the Bands and the Dodgeball Tournament. A new event planned for this year is a 3-on-3 basketball tournament coming in April.
