Relay for Life event planned this weekend at Naper North

Updated: July 21, 2012 6:29AM

The city of Naperville is reminding residents of upcoming amplification hours that will be in effect for the Relay for Life of North Naperville taking place from 4 p.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. Sunday at Naperville North High School, 899 N. Mill St.

Residents in and around this area are advised that amplification between the hours of 4 p.m. and 6 a.m. will occur. The event’s music and announcement volume will be lowered at 10 p.m., which is when a typical amplifier permit would expire; however, due to the unique nature of this all-night event, music and announcements will remain ongoing through 6 a.m., city officials said.

The Relay for Life is an opportunity for participants to come together to remember loved ones lost to cancer and honor those who have won their battle against the disease, as well as raise funds to support the American Cancer Society. Naperville has hosted Relay for Life events since 2003.
