If you’ve been waiting for the free bagged leaf and yard waste collection cycle to begin, start raking. Monday garbage pickup is your first chance. It continues through Dec. 14.

To participate, fill 32-gallon paper yard waste bags with leaves and other yard waste. They will not require stickers starting Monday. Branches and other yard waste that are tied into bundles require a sticker at all times. There is a 60-pound maximum per bag. Wet leaves make bags heavier. Place the bags at the curb by 6 a.m. on your normal garbage collection day.

Stickers cost $2.10 and can be purchased at many Naperville stores or in the finance department at the Municipal Center, 400 S. Eagle St. Hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday. Paper yard waste bags are available at local grocery and hardware stores.

Weekly bag or bundled yard waste collection ends for the year Dec. 14. Yard waste collection will begin again March 18 with the required yard waste sticker.

Call the department of public works at 630-420-6095 or visit www.naperville.il.us/leafcollection.aspx.
