Reward offered in Naperville smartphone theft

Police in west suburban Naperville are offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in a smartphone theft case.

The HTV One V phone was stolen Thursday about 3:20 p.m. in the 3400 block of Timber Creek Lane, the city of Naperville said in a release.

Witnesses saw a male suspect about 16 years old running northbound from the scene, the release said.

He is described as 5-foot-3 to 5-foot-4 and possibly of Indian descent, the release said. He had short, black hair, a dark complexion and acne on his face. He was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt with long, black mesh shorts.

Authorities are offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in this case, the release said.

Anyone who saw what happened or who has information on the theft or the suspect are asked to call Crime Stoppers at (630) 420-6006. Callers may remain anonymous.
