Police Report

These are incidents reported by the Naperville Police Department. Where charges have been filed, the report includes when and where the suspect was stopped or taken into custody and the nature of the charges.

Friday, Nov. 16

1Theft: A 22-year-old man reported between 10:30 p.m. Nov. 15 and 1 a.m. Nov. 16, iPhone 5, driver’s license and credit card holder stolen from his coat pocket inside business on 0-99 block of West Jefferson Avenue.

2Driving under the influence: Emily R. Kasar, 22, 1200 block of Edward Road; 2:47 a.m. near Hollywood Palms Cinema, 352 S. Route 59; charged with two counts DUI.

3DUI: Rita J. Burger, 67, 1200 block of North West Street; 9:08 a.m. near Ogden Avenue and River Road; charged with DUI/drugs and improper lane use.

4Vehicle burglary: A 41-year-old woman reported between 11:20 a.m. and 2:15 p.m., wallet stolen from unlocked car parked in lot of Naperville Public Library’s Naper Boulevard branch, 2035 Naper Blvd.

5Suspended license: Marilu Zavala, 31, Joliet; 2:48 p.m. near Foxcroft Road and Washington Street; charged with driving with a suspended license and improper lane use.

6Vehicle damage: A 44-year-old woman reported about 3:15 p.m., car window shattered as she drove on 600 block of Chippewa Drive; damage estimated at $558.

7Suspended license: Pedro L. Valencia, 25, Melrose Park; 3:37 p.m. near Ogden Avenue and Benedetti Drive; charged with driving with a suspended license and driving without insurance.

8Shoplifting: Carlos E. Rodriguez, 34, Aurora; 3:44 p.m. at Walmart, 776 S. Route 59; charged with retail theft, for trying to steal a Tracphone wireless telephone.

9Property damage: A 36-year-old woman reported between 5:30 and 6:15 p.m., raw eggs hurled and shattered on vehicle parked outside home on 2200 block of Petworth Court; another egg struck and broke neighbor’s shutter.

10Excessive speeding: Maureen S. Standaert, 45, 500 block of Gartner Road; 10:42 p.m. near Gartner and Modaff roads; charged with driving 31-40 mph over posted speed limit.

11Trespassing: Andrew C. Armstrong, age not provided, homeless; 11:55 p.m. near elevator on top floor of city of Naperville public parking deck, 43 W. Van Buren Ave.; charged with criminal trespass to land, after being found “in his underwear and T-shirt ... getting ready to sleep in same.”

Saturday, Nov. 17

12Suspended license: Jacob N. Nelson, 18, Aurora; 12:35 a.m. near Ogden Avenue and Rickert Drive; charged with driving with a suspended license, driving without insurance, failure to wear a seat belt and speeding; Nelson had “a record of prior arrests for doing the same thing.”

13DUI: Zaira E. Mondragon, 25, Oswego; 12:46 a.m. near Aurora Avenue and Main Street; charged with DUI and disregarding a stop sign.

14DUI: Sharon G. Hamm, 54, Yorkville; 1:37 a.m. near New York Street and Route 59, Aurora; charged with two counts DUI and one count each of improper lane use and driving with defective windshield or window.

15Marijuana possession: Amos E. Sanders, 32, Aurora; 2:45 a.m. on 1600 block of Country Lakes Drive; charged with possession of more than 2.5 but less than 10 grams marijuana, illegal possession or transportation of liquor and resisting a peace officer.

16DUI: Paul G. Jewulski, 30, 1100 block of Dickens Avenue; 7:28 a.m. at home; charged with DUI/alcohol, DUI/drugs, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident/driving too fast for conditions, driving with a suspended license and improper lane use.

17Vehicle burglary: A 32-year-old woman reported between 12:01 and 8 a.m., two Visa debit cards, Illinois state identification card and packet of cigarettes stolen from BMW parked outside home on 1200 block of Greensfield Drive.

18Property damage: A 56-year-old man reported between 9:30 p.m. Nov. 16 and 9:35 a.m. Nov. 17, home and vehicle on 500 block of Menominee Lane damaged, most likely by rocks found on driveway.

19Suspicious activity: About 10:06 a.m., unidentified subjects seen inside open garage on 100 block of North Washington Street; subjects fled when approached; no damage to garage, nothing stolen.

20Counterfeit ID: Lily V. Justh, 20, 300 block of South Sleight Street; 4:03 p.m. near Quigley’s Irish Pub, 43 E. Jefferson Ave.; charged with possession of false identification card and consumption of liquor by minor.
