Reward posted following Naperville home burglary

Updated: December 29, 2012 6:34AM

Naperville police are appealing to the public for help in solving a home burglary, in which $3,000 worth of jewelry was stolen.

A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered by Naperville Crime Stoppers for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the break-in. It occurred between 10:15 and 10:45 a.m. Nov. 21 at a house on the 800 block of South Wright Street.

Police Sgt. Lou Cammiso said the burglary occurred while one of the homeowners was out walking the family dog. There were no signs of forced entry to the house, and jewelry with an estimated value of $3,000 was stolen.

Earlier that morning, while no one was home, a woman was seen walking up to the front door of the house, Cammiso said. The homeowner said she was not expecting anyone at that time.

The “visitor” was described as being a heavyset white woman with blond hair.

Those who have information about the case are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 630-420-6006.

Callers can remain anonymous.
