Many local facitilies to be closed for holidays

A number of facilities around Naperville will be closed in observance of the year-end holidays.
City of Naperville
The Naperville Municipal Center will be closed Monday and Tuesday and Jan. 1, 2013, in observance of the Christmas and New Year’s Day holidays. There will be no garbage collection on either of the next two Tuesdays. For those whose garbage is normally collected on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, pickup of garbage and recycling materials will be one day later than normal during the two weeks.
Naperville
Park District
The administrative headquarters of the Naperville Park District, 320 W. Jackson Ave., will be closed Saturday through Tuesday; open 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 26-28 and 8:30 a.m. to noon Dec. 31; and closed Dec. 29 and 30 and Jan. 1. The Alfred Rubin Riverwalk Community Center at 305 W. Jackson Ave., the Barn Recreation Center at 421 W. Martin Ave. and the 95th Street Center at 2244 W. 95th St. will be closed Dec. 22-25, open Dec. 26-28 and closed Dec. 29-Jan. 1. For more information, visit www.napervilleparks.org.
Naperville
Public Library
The Naperville Public Library will be closed Monday and Tuesday. Normal operating hours of 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. will resume on Wednesday. The library also will celebrate the New Year holiday by closing at 5 p.m. Dec. 31 and remaining closed Jan. 1. Normal operating hours will resume Jan. 2, 2013. Drive-up returns for all materials are available 24 hours a day at the Nichols Library, 200 W. Jefferson Ave.; the Naper Boulevard Library, 2035 S. Naper Blvd.; and the 95th Street Library, 3015 Cedar Glade Dr. Materials may be renewed by calling 630-961-0460. The library catalog, www.naperville-lib.org, is also available around the clock for downloading or renewing materials.
DuPage County
The offices of the county government at 421 N. County Farm Road in Wheaton will be closed Monday, Tuesday and Jan. 1, in observance of Christmas Eve, Christmas and New Year’s Day. All departments will operate at their normal hours for the remaining days of the last week in December and the first week in January.
Health Department
The DuPage County Health Department’s Public Health Centers in Addison, Lombard, West Chicago, Westmont and Wheaton will be closed Tuesday in observance of Christmas, and Jan. 1, 2013, in observance of New Year’s Day. The crisis hotline at 630-627-1700 will remain available. All offices will reopen at their regular times on Wednesday and on Jan. 2, 2013.
Post Office
The U.S. Postal Service will offer extended hours at some locations on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, including those in Naperville and Aurora.
Each will open at its regular time and close at 5 p.m. For information about holiday hours at specific Post Offices, call 800-ASK-USPS or visit www.usps.gov. All Post Offices will be closed Christmas Day and New Year’s Day in observance of the holidays.
Only Holiday Premium Express Mail will be delivered on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day in most major metro areas. Post Offices will resume regular business hours Dec. 26 and Jan. 2.
