Park District preschool information
Parents are invited to learn more about the Naperville Park District’s preschool programs at the upcoming Preschool Information Night.
The event will take place from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Jan. 16 at the Seager Park Interpretive Center, 1163 Plank Road. Parents do not need to register for this evening.

Sinfonietta to honor
Martin Luther King
Conductor Mei-Ann Chen leads the Chicago Sinfonietta’s annual tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King at 3 p.m. Jan. 20 in North Central College’s Wentz Concert Hall at the Fine Arts Center, 171 E. Chicago Ave.
Featured guests include Metropolitan Opera clarinetist Anthony McGill and renowned bass-baritone Eric Owens.

Hill Harper to give speech at NCC
North Central College hosts Hill Harper — award-winning actor, bestselling author and philanthropist — as keynote speaker for the college’s annual celebration of the life and legacy of Rev. Martin Luther King.
Harper will give a talk at 7 p.m. Jan. 21 in Wentz Concert Hall at the Fine Arts Center, 171 E. Chicago Ave. Admission is $5 at the door.
Hill is a star of the TV drama “CSI: NY,” author of four New York Times bestsellers and recipient of seven NAACP Image Awards for writing and acting.
Jazz sounds at Madden Theatre
Saxophonist and North Central College jazz faculty member Mitch Paliga will perform “An Evening with Jazz Saxophonist Mitch Paliga” at 8 p.m. Friday in North Central College’s Madden Theatre at the Fine Arts Center, 171 E. Chicago Ave.

Bridal Showcase at Naper Settlement
More than 40 vendors will be on hand at the free Bridal Showcase to be held from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Naper Settlement, 523 S. Webster St.
Attendees can also take a tour of the historic Century Memorial Chapel.

Emergency classes planned
Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) classes will take place from 6:45 to 9:30 p.m. Jan. 30 and Feb. 6, 13 and 20 at the Naperville Electric Service Center, 1392 Aurora Ave. The final class will take place from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 23 at Fire Station No. 4, 1979 Brookdale Road.
Participants must be 18 years of age and either live or be employed in the City of Naperville. Interested parties should download a registration form and waiver from the CERT website at www.napercert.org. For more information, visit www.napercert.org.
Chocolate Festival coming to city
360 Youth Services will host its 10th annual Chocolate Festival from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 19 at the Neuqua Valley Gold Campus, 3220 Cedar Glade Drive.
Partcipants can enjoy free samples from a variety of chocolate vendors, cooking demonstrations and the Sweet Treat Competition, along with live entertainment.

‘Oliver!’ to be performed in Naperville
Experience the high-spirited adventures of Oliver Twist in this musical adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic tale being presented by Magical Starlight Theatre.
“Oliver!” will run at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 18, 19, 25 and 26 and 2 p.m. Jan. 19, 20, 26 and 27.
