Scout Sunday celebrates religious connection

Scout Sunday on Feb. 3, a yearly recognition of Scouts in their religious communities, is among the first of many events that Scouts will participate in this year. Each religious organization will recognize Scouts for their service to the community, loyalty to family, and reverence to their faith and country.

Scout Sunday will be observed in places of worship throughout DuPage, Kane, Kendall, and DeKalb counties for the Three Fires Council, Boy Scouts of America. Feb. 8, 1910, was the founding of the Boy Scouts of America.

Mayslake Ministries’ leader at St. Thomas

Mary Amore, executive director of Mayslake Ministries in Lombard, will present a three-day parish mission at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 1500 Brookdale Road, Naperville.

Amore will lead discussions on “The Eucharist: Pathway, Invitation, Renewed Call to Discipleship,” beginning with reflections after homilies during all Masses the weekend of Feb. 2. The three-day parish mission will continue during morning and evening sessions Feb. 4 through 6.
