Police Report

These are incidents reported by the Naperville Police Department. Where charges have been filed, the report includes when and where the suspect was stopped or taken into custody and the nature of the charges.

Sunday, Jan. 20

1Theft: Between 1:23 and 1:45 a.m., used automotive batteries being stored for recycling stolen from outside business on 700 block of South Route 59.

2Theft: About 11:15 p.m., two unidentified thieves stole Naperville North High School congratulatory signs from front yard of home on 0-99 block of South Julian Street.

Monday, Jan. 21

3Property damage: About 8:19 p.m., navy blue sedan crashed into tree and fence on 900 block of North Avenue, near Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery; motorist then drove away east on North Avenue.

4Drug possession: Andrea N. Lerner, 27, Streamwood; 11:39 p.m. on 1600 block of Brookdale Road; charged with possession of a controlled substance, driving under the influence of drugs, theft, driving without insurance and improper lane use.

Tuesday, Jan. 22

5Vehicle damage: A 27-year-old man reported between 4 p.m. Jan. 11 and 9:02 a.m. Jan. 22, vehicle damaged in or near city of Naperville public parking deck, 43 W. Van Buren Ave.

6Theft: A 47-year-old woman reported between Dec. 15 and 10 a.m. Jan. 22, jewelry box containing five pieces of jewelry stolen from bedroom of home on 1600 block of Clyde Drive.

7Warrant: Michael J. Sullivan, 19, 3500 block of Caine Drive; 11:54 a.m. at Naperville police station, 1350 W. Aurora Ave.; surrendered on warrant issued by Jackson County on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.

8Property damage: Sometime before 12:53 p.m., 3-inch-by-5-inch pane of glass shattered in window of shelter at Metra Railway Route 59 commuter train station, 400 block of Fairway Drive.

9Marijuana possession: About 3:42 p.m., two unidentified people ticketed for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia on 1600 block of Cove Court.

10Warrant: Max J. Anderson, 25, 200 block of East Fifth Avenue; 7:05 p.m. at Naperville police station, 1350 W. Aurora Ave.; surrendered on warrant for theft of labor or services.
