These are incidents reported by the Naperville Police Department. Where charges have been filed, the report includes when and where the suspect was stopped or taken into custody and the nature of the charges.
Friday, Jan. 25
1Public urination: About 12:15 a.m., unidentified man or woman ticketed for urinating in public on 0-99 block of East Chicago Avenue.
2Suspended license: Thomas R. Smith, 20, Chicago; 1:14 a.m. near 83rd Street and Route 59; charged with driving with a suspended license, possession of marijuana, driving without insurance and improper display of license plate or permit.
3Vehicle burglaries: Between 12:21 a.m. Jan. 24 and 3:37 p.m. today, three vehicles burglarized on 1000 and 1100 blocks Hyde Park Lane; 21-year-old man reported stereo faceplate stolen from his vehicle; 51-year-old woman reported $20 stolen from her unlocked vehicle; and 19-year-old woman reported black Pontiac G6 entered, but nothing stolen.
4Driving under the influence: Susan R. Benes, 50, 2400 block of Waupaca Court; 6:51 p.m. near Fifth Third Bank, 1296 Rickert Drive; charged with two counts DUI and one count each failure to notify owner of damage to unattended vehicle, illegal possession or transportation of liquor and driving without insurance.
5Unwanted subject: About 7:44 p.m., manager of unidentified store on 100 block of East Ogden Avenue called police to report intoxicated man or woman “annoying other customers”; manager asked for subject to be removed; no charges filed.
6Drug possession: Kenneth Lin, 25, 4200 block of Colton Circle; 8:24 p.m. at Walmart, 776 S. Route 59; charged with possession of a controlled substance and retail theft.
7Suspended license: Brandon Cabrera, 19, Yorkville; 9:41 p.m. near Carrolwood Road and Fort Hill Drive; charged with driving with a suspended license.
Saturday, Jan. 26
8DUI: Nadezda S. Corsello, 28, Downers Grove; 3:17 a.m. near Beebe Drive and Route 59; charged with DUI and driving on wrong side of four-lane highway.
9Unlicensed driver: Cesar Silva, 40, 1500 block of Fairway Drive; 8:48 a.m. near Fairway Drive and Burke Court; charged with driving without a license, failure to reduce speed when approaching emergency vehicles and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident/driving too fast for conditions.
10Failure to reduce speed: About 10:03 a.m., unidentified motorist ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident/driving too fast for conditions, after vehicle rear-ended Naperville Police Department Car No. 150 near Quincy and Ogden avenues.
11Shoplifting: Sheri A. Kivett, 46, and Ryan N. Beseke, 26, both of Aurora; 12:35 p.m. at Walmart, 776 S. Route 59; charged with felony retail theft for stealing two 32-inch television sets.
12No insurance: About 6:03 p.m., unidentified motorist cited for driving without insurance, after vehicle rear-ended a Kia on the 4900 block of South Route 59.
13Suspended license: Jorge L. Palma, 21, 1000 block of Heritage Hill Drive; 9:38 p.m. near Encina and Whispering Hills drives; charged with driving with a suspended license and speeding.
14Aggravated assault: Edward J. Slezak, 33, Lisle; and Aaron A. Carline, 37, 1900 block of Bristol Court; 9:41 p.m. near business on 1700 block of Freedom Drive; Slezak charged with aggravated assault and disorderly conduct, after pulling knife and approaching vehicle containing two women; Carline charged with two counts DUI and one count each resisting a peace officer and improper lane use.
