A Bolingbrook man has been indicted on five counts of possession of child pornography by a Will County grand jury.

James Vollmar, 31, of 117 Balmoral Drive, was arrested Jan. 24 by officers from Will County State’s Attorney Jim Glasgow’s High Technology Computer Crimes Unit, the Bolingbrook Police Department and the U.S. Secret Service Computer Forensic Unit.

The grand jury indictments were handed up Thursday to Judge Gerald Kinney.

Vollmar was arrested after detectives executed a search warrant on his apartment and seized his computer.

The arrest was the result of a three-month investigation launched by the state’s attorney’s office into the distribution of child pornography over the Internet.

Vollmar’s bail was set at $50,000, and he has posted the required 10 percent to be released from jail. He is scheduled to appear in court at 9 a.m. Feb. 15.

The indictments are Class 2 felonies that carry a penalty of three to seven years in prison upon conviction.
