Police Report

These are incidents reported by the Naperville Police Department. Where charges have been filed, the report includes when and where the suspect was stopped or taken into custody and the nature of the charges.

Friday, Feb. 8

1Theft: Between 5:30 p.m. Feb. 4 and 2:52 p.m. today, rare “Magic The Gathering” cards stolen from Graham Crackers Comics, 1271 Rickert Drive; surveillance camera filmed two white men in their 20s examining cards that employees later found missing from store.

Saturday, Feb. 9

2Driving under the influence: Meghan D. Brozenec, 25, Aurora; 10:15 p.m. near East West Corporate Center, 1751 W. Diehl Road; charged with two counts DUI and one count each possession of drug paraphernalia and improper parking in roadway.

Sunday, Feb. 10

3Theft of lost/misplaced property: Between 9:30 p.m. Feb. 9 and 12:30 a.m., Apple iPhone 5 lost or stolen in vicinity of AMC Showplace Naperville 16 movie theater complex, 2815 Showplace Drive.

4Theft: Ronald A. Joyce, 60, 1700 block of Brookdale Road; 8:48 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, 1370 E. 87th St.; charged with theft.

5Theft: Between 9:30 p.m. Feb. 8 and 10:16 a.m. today, Apple iPhone 4 valued at $300 stolen from man’s home on 300 block of Weatherford Lane, most likely during party there.

6Vehicle burglary: Between 12:45 a.m. and noon, pair of sunglasses stolen from unlocked vehicle parked outside home on 2300 block of Flambeau Drive.

7Theft: Angelica G. Abraham, age and home town not provided; 12:25 p.m. at unidentified business on 700 block of South Route 59; issued municipal ticket for theft.

8Property damage: Mike L. C. Fang, 44, 1100 block of Compass Court; 3:41 p.m. at Chase Bank, 1212 Hobson Road; charged with failure to notify owner of property damage, after top of U-Haul truck he was driving struck roof of drive-thru facility, putting two holes in roof and wedging overhead security camera inside it, with wires left dangling 4 feet; Fang left scene and was brought back by police.

Monday, Feb. 11

9Drunken pedestrian: About 5:54 a.m., intoxicated, 30-year-old woman found wandering in parking lot of apartment complex on 800 block of Corday Drive, after locking self out of home; police contacted woman’s parents, who came to assist her.

10Suspended license: Masroor A. Shamsi, 39, Aurora; 1:50 p.m. near 83rd Street and Route 59; charged with driving with a suspended license, driving without insurnace and improper lane use; also wanted on two warrants.

11DUI: Ronald J. Preston, 62, 0-99 block of Green Valley Drive; 5:52 p.m. near Jewel-Osco, 127 E. Ogden Ave.; charged with DUI and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident/driving too fast for conditions, after causing three-vehicle traffic crash near Ogden Avenue and Ellsworth Street.

12Drug paraphernalia possession: Noel Y. Bibriesca, 23, Aurora; 10:29 p.m. near 83rd Street and Route 59; charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license, driving without insurance and disobeying a traffic signal; also wanted on a warrant.

13Revoked license: Juan Lopez, 33, Aurora; followed about 10:30 p.m. to North Aurora and Eola roads, Aurora; charged with driving with a revoked license and improper lane use.

14Drug paraphernalia possession: Jonathan D. Lopez, 21, Bolingbrook; 11:35 p.m. near Van Buren Avenue and Washington Street; charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license.

Tuesday, Feb. 12

15Suspended license: Filiberto Torres, 38, Addison; 8 a.m. near Meridian Lake Drive and Route 59, Aurora; charged with driving with a suspended license.
