Naperville candidate forums are scheduled

The Naperville Area Homeowners Confederation has scheduled three forums to give residents a look at the school board and City Council candidates in Naperville.

All the forums will be held at 7 p.m. in the City Council Chambers of the Naperville Municipal Center, 400 S. Eagle St. The schedule includes forums for School District 203 candidates tonight, Feb. 27; School District 204 hopefuls on March 7 and Naperville City Council candidates on March 13.

The events will be telecast on the City of Naperville Government Access Channel, WCNC (6-WOW, 10-Comcast, 99-AT&T) as well as streamed live and available for on-demand viewing on the city’s website at www.naperville.il.us/granicus.html.

All the candidates are running in the spring election, to be held April 9.

Candidates for four seats on the D203 board include, in ballot order, Donna Wandke, Charles Cush, Derek Krauss, Jackie Romberg, David Fish, Kristin W. Fitzgerald, Heather Rajamoney, Neil Samuels, Susan Crotty, Jay Fisher and Sabina Qadir.

Candidates in School District 204 for four spots on the board include, in ballot order, Cathy Piehl, Vasavi Chakka, Krishna Bansal, Michael Raczak, Soteria Kapsis, Maria Curry, Jazmin Santillan and Benjamin White. Justin Karubas is running in an uncontested election for the two years remaining of the unexpired term of Curt Bradshaw, who stepped down in September after accepting an appointment to the Illinois State Board of Education.

Candidates for four open City Council seats include, in ballot order, David Wentz, Thomas Glass, Wayne Floegel, Jeff Davis, Kevin Coyne, Paul Hinterlong, John Krummen, Doug Krause, Bill Habel, Jo Malik, Tara Leigh Gregus and Judith Brodhead.
