The Naperville Heritage Society announced Tuesday that Sikich is returning as the presenting sponsor of Naper Settlement’s 2013 Naper Nights Community Concert Series.
The Heritage Society also released the schedule of acts to perform during the series.
Sikich is a professional services firm that ranks as one of the country’s Top 50 Certified Public Accounting firms, Heritage Society officials said.
“We are so honored to work with Naper Settlement again this year in sponsoring Naper Nights, one of the most exciting summer events in this community,” said Jim Sikich, CEO and managing partner of Sikich. “Our firm is growing at an extraordinary rate, and we owe so much of that to the Naperville and surrounding communities. Sponsoring Naper Nights is just one way that we continue demonstrating our commitment and appreciation to our surroundings.”
This year’s schedule will feature some of area’s premier tribute bands.
“We appreciate Sikich as a corporate community leader and partner dedicated to Naper Settlement’s education mission,” said Mike Krol, chairman of the board of the Naperville Heritage Society. “As our Naper Nights presenting sponsor for the second year, we thank Sikich for their support in bringing the history of rock to life on a local stage that families in Naperville can enjoy over three weekends this summer.”
Naper Nights is being held June 21-22, July 26-27 and August 23-24. American English starts off the concert series on June 21 with opening act Ska To Catch ’Em All, a fun-filled romp of happy ska music complete with a brass section. American English takes listeners on a musical journey from the Fab Four’s early years to their final years as a band.
On June 22, Righteous Hillbillies will warm up the audience with country rock from the ’70s to today, followed by Heartache Tonight, an Eagles tribute band.
Kashmir – The Led Zeppelin Show kicks off the weekend on July 26 with a look-a-like tribute to the renowned rockers inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. ARRA, a classic rock cover band, will play the music of Journey, Styx, Boston, REO Speedwagon and other monster hits of the 1970s through the 1990s on July 27. The opening act is Tumbling Dice, hailed as the finest musical tribute in America to the Rolling Stones.
The legendary Bruce Springsteen will come to life through Michael McDermott and The Duke Street Kings on Aug. 23. McDermott previously performed at Naper Settlement in 2008. Trippin Billies, said to be the closest act vocally to the Dave Matthews Band, will perform on Aug. 24.
Participants can bring a lawn chair or blanket. The concerts feature cold drinks and great food with a sampling from Taste of Naperville favorites Sullivan’s Steakhouse in June and Hugo’s Frog Bar & Fish House in August.
Naper Nights hours are 5 to 10 p.m. Friday night tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for youth 4 to 12 years old. Saturday night tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for youth. Admission is free for Heritage Society members.
No outside beverages are allowed into the shows, and there are no advance ticket discount. All proceeds benefit the Naperville Heritage Society.
