With Lynyrd Skynyrd signed to play at this year’s Ribfest, perhaps they will change the song to “Sweet Home Naperville.”
The Exchange Club of Naperville and the 2013 Ribfest Committee announced Wednesday that veteran rockers Lynyrd Skynyrd will perform at the annual festival July 7.
The group has a catalog of more 60 albums and hundreds of songs including the rock anthem “Sweet Home Alabama.”
Ribfest organizers said that more bands for the summer festival will be announced soon.
“Our line-up for Ribfest is outstanding as usual and with the addition of Lynyrd Skynyrd we are sure to please the rock and roll fans of all ages,” said Ribfest 2013 Chairman Marty Walker.
Ribfest will be held July 3 to 7 in Knoch Park in Naperville. Ribfest consists of family activities throughout the event, rib vendors from across the country and music.
All the proceeds from Ribfest go to support the elimination of child abuse and domestic violence.
Tickets will go on sale in the spring at www.ribfest.net.
