Two Naperville museums have joined a program to honor those serving in the military.
Naper Settlement and the DuPage Children’s Museum have become Blue Star Museums, an initiative of Blue Star Families, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts and more than 900 museums in all 50 states.
The museums in the program offer military families free admission this summer through Labor Day.
All active duty service members (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard), National Guard and Reserve, and up to five immediate family members, including spouse, child or sibling, can participate.
Other museums in the area that are part of the program include the First Division Museum at Cantigny, the Lizzadro Museum of Lapidary Art and the Morton Arboretum. For a full list of participating museums, visit www.bluestarfam.org/drupal/participatingmuseums or www.arts.gov/bluestarmuseums.
