Worker severely hurt by electric jolt

Updated: November 3, 2011 3:57PM

An electrical worker was seriously injured Saturday afternoon when he was severely injured by a jolt of electricity while working at the corner of Ferry Road and Corporate Drive in Naperville.

He was taken to Edward Hospital in Naperville where he is being treated for his injuries, which the Naperville Fire Department called “significant.”

According to Fire Department officials, the incident happened at about 4:25 p.m. An engine and medic unit were sent to the site where they found the injured electrical contractor.

The incident cut power to the Monarch Landing Senior Living Community at 2255 Monarch Drive in Naperville. The facility used backup generators to keep power going until repairs were completed.
