Police Blotter: Vehicle burglarized on Fourth Avenue

These are incidents reported by the Naperville Police Department. Where charges have been filed, the reports include when and where the suspect was stopped or taken into custody and the nature of the charges.

Friday, Oct. 14

1Vehicle burglary: Between 11:30 p.m. Oct. 13 and 12:10 a.m. Oct. 14, on the 100 block of Fourth Avenue, brown leather, hard-shell briefcase containing photographs, notebooks and other personal effects stolen from unlocked cab.

2Disorderly conduct: John R. Beale, 66, Lisle; 9:40 a.m. on the 1300 block of Aurora Avenue; charged with disorderly conduct.

3Theft: Sometime between Oct. 13 and 11 a.m. Oct. 14, on the 600 block of North Washington Street, scrap auto parts stolen from alongside of building.

4Theft: Michael C. Schwerer, 28, Warrenville; 12:35 p.m. on the 1300 block of Aurora Avenue; charged with theft.

5Burglary: Between 2:58 p.m. May 1 and 2:58 p.m. Oct. 14, on the 2600 block of Camberley Circle, copper piping worth approximately $2,500 stolen from home under construction.

6Receiving illegal goods: Jacob B. Soto, 20, Lisle; 4:40 p.m. on the 1300 the block of Aurora Avenue; charged with receiving illegal goods.

7Suspended license: Jose R. Guzman, 53, West Chicago; 4:42 p.m. near McDowell Road and Route 59; charged with driving on a suspended or revoked licensed and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident/driving too fast for conditions.

8Driving under the influence: David Y. Row, 33, 1800 block of Clyde Drive; 5:55 p.m. near McDowell Road and Route 59; charged with driving under the influence of drugs, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving on a suspended or revoked license.

9Suspicious incident: Between 10:04 a.m. and 8:07 p.m., on the 800 block of Benedetti Drive, resident had order of protection to be served against ex-boyfriend, who also has two warrants for his arrest.

10Vehicle damage: At 8:53 p.m. near Clearwater Lane and Falkner Drive, unknown object thrown at man’s passing vehicle, putting small dents in passenger side.

11Suspended license: Saad Abbas, 21, 2600 block of Saddlebrook Drive; 9:12 p.m. near 75th Street and Fort Hill Drive; charged with driving on a suspended or revoked license and failure to signal.

12Suspicious incident: Sometime before 10:34 p.m., on the 0-99 block of Foxcroft Road, truck tire flattened outside home; same truck found with flattened tire on Oct. 13 after school.

13Hit and run: Between 9 p.m. and 10:45 p.m. on the 900 block of Lindrick Court, rear of parked vehicle struck.

14Property damage: Sometime before 11 p.m., on the 300 block of Carriage Hill Road, mailbox smashed with a baseball bat.

Saturday, Oct. 15

15Underage drinking: Eric M. Oyster, 19, Plainfield; 12:48 a.m. on the 600 block of North Ellsworth Street; charged with consumption of liquor by minor and disorderly conduct.

16DUI: Jonathan B. Oakley, 23, Schaumburg; 2:26 a.m. on the 1500 block of Aurora Avenue; charged with DUI and improper lane usage.

17DUI: Sonia D. Lopez, 24, 600 block of Wintergreen Circle; 2:29 a.m. on the 1300 block of Aurora Avenue; charged with DUI and improper lane usage.

18Theft: Between 10 p.m. Oct. 14 and 7 a.m. Oct. 15, on the 1700 block of Brookdale Road, front passenger-side tire and rim stolen from black Jeep Grand Cherokee; loss estimated at $400.

19Trespassing: Morgan K. Rodriguez, 18, Des Plaines; 7:42 a.m. on the 100 block of North Sleight Street; charged with criminal trespass to residence and violation of bail bond.

20Traffic crash: At 8:48 a.m., on the 1200 block of Chalet Road, driver pressed accelerator instead of brake while parking and struck detached garage, causing significant damage.

21Property damage: Between 4 p.m. Oct. 14 and 11:28 a.m. Oct. 15, on the 0-99 block of Testa Drive, window screen found damaged; appeared to have been pushed, causing frame to bend.

22Property damage: Between 4:30 and 8 p.m., on the 300 block of Meadow Green Drive, mailbox damaged.

23Property damage: About 10:10 p.m., on the 200 block of Terrance Drive, mailbox knocked over.

24Marijuana possession: Eric Cage, 18, 100 block of Testa Drive; 11:20 p.m. near Jefferson Avenue and River Road; charged with possession of less than 2.5 grams of marijuana.

Sunday, Oct. 16

25Trespassing: Paul M. Litwitz, 54, 100 block of Ketten Drive; 12:13 a.m. on the 600 block of East Ogden Avenue; charged with criminal trespass to land.

26Unlicensed driver: Rogelio Desantiago, 24, 700 block of Inland Circle; 12:39 a.m. near North Aurora and Eola roads, Aurora; charged with driving without a license and improper lane usage.

27Property damage: James M. Gilsdorf, 20, Bolingbrook; 12:59 a.m. at home; charged with criminal damage to property, after allegedly damaging several mailboxes.

28DUI: Eliziah T. Evans, 31, 700 block of Inland Circle; 2:03 a.m. near Ogden Avenue and Benedetti Drive; charged with DUI, illegal possession or transportation of liquor and speeding.

29DUI: Jessica S. Spires, 21, Lebanon; 2:19 a.m. near Osler Drive and Washington Street; charged with DUI, improper lane usage and speeding.

30DUI: Jay A. Keller, 50, 2700 block of Wendy Drive; 2:56 a.m. on the 3200 block of South Route 59; charged with DUI, failure to signal, driving in the wrong lane of traffic and failure to yield right-of-way to emergency vehicle.

31Property damage: Sometime before 7:40 a.m., on the 1600 block of Ranchview Drive, tree broken at trunk.

32Property damage: Sometime before 8:45 a.m., blunt object used to destroy mailbox outside home on 2100 block of Templar Drive; four or five other mailboxes in area also found damaged or destroyed.

33Theft: At 8:35 p.m. on the 1600 block of Ada Lane, pumpkin stolen from homeowner’s doorstep.

Monday, Oct. 17

34Theft: Between 7 and 9:30 a.m., license plate found missing from vehicle parked in lot near Jewel-Osco, 1759 W. Ogden Ave.

35Shoplifting: James S. Winship, 28, 100 block of Testa Drive; 6:33 p.m. at Whole Foods Market, 2607 W. 75th St.; charged with retail theft.

36Marijuana possession: Paolo A. Damazo, age and home town not provided; 8:09 p.m. near Jackson Avenue and Eagle Street; charged with possession of marijuana and driving with an expired registration.

37Forgery: Erica J. Veno, 18, Plainfield; 10:25 p.m. on the campus of North Central College, 200 block of South Brainard Street; charged with forgery.
