The first of two women arrested earlier this fall for allegedly offering sexual favors for money at a massage parlor on the south end of Naperville has been sentenced in that case.
Siwei Zhang, 40, of Monterey Park, Calif., was convicted of a misdemeanor charge of violating the Massage Licensing Act, according to records on file in DuPage County Circuit Court in Wheaton.
Judge William I. Ferguson has ordered Zhang to perform 30 hours of community service work as part of her penalty, records indicated. He also fined her $285, records showed.
Zhang and an associate, Meiying Xu, were arrested at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 21 on Naperville’s far south side. The massage parlor was located in a strip mall on the 1800 block of South Washington Street, west of the DuPage River and near the Old Farm neighborhood.
Members of the police Special Operations Group and Intel Unit investigated reports of “subjects engaging in acts of prostitution through a business front purported to be a massage parlor,” Sgt. Nick Liberio said in October.
Zhang and Xu had allegedly “posted various services on the Internet, and agreed to meet their customers at the massage parlor and perform sexual acts in exchange for money,” Liberio said.
Xu, 49, of Alhambra, Calif., faces trial Feb. 9 on charges of prostitution and violating the Massage Licensing Act. She remains free on bond.
