As summertime temperatures are slowly making their way into our lives, its time to think about some fun chilled-beverage options, especially for our younger ones. Try some fruity caffeine-free children’s teas from Adagio Teas in downtown Naperville for some new taste choices.
The themed children’s teas, all packaged in colorful airtight reusable tin boxes, come in a multitude of fruit and herbal flavors.
“They are very fruity and nothing is artificially flavored or pre-sweetened,” says Laura Sabato, store manager at the 27 W. Jefferson Ave. location.
The all-natural drink can be enjoyed warm or chilled for a refreshing summertime juice substitute. Each of the colorful tins holds 15 pyramid-shaped tea bags, giving the full leaves enough room to expand. The tins come with brewing and steeping recommendations.
The tea collections were introduced late last year during the pre-Christmas season, Sabato says, but have quickly become a big seller.
Three of the nine different themed teas are geared more toward boys with boldly colored tins and stripling names: the Rocket Fuel, the Monster Brew and the T-Rex, explains Sabato of the Tree House collection.
The Story Time collection includes Little Red Riding Hood, Alice in Wonderland and the Three Little Pigs, and the Fairy Tale collection consists of teas with names such as Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Snow White. Both are geared toward girls and younger children.
Ask to sample-sniff or sample-sip any one of the tea concoctions that blend fruity and herbal brews to create nine different and unique tastes.
“One, I was told, tastes like Sour Patch kids,” Sabato snickers.
Individual tins cost $9. Any of the collections, each containing three themed tins, cost $24.
