Whether a lack of running enthusiasm or an injury has kept you from taking your exercise regimen outdoors, then this piece of equipment might just be that long-awaited solution.
The ElliptiGO is just what the name implies: An elliptical machine run by bicycle mechanics, with the benefit of “riding” outdoors.
“Anyone can use it, even with weak knees,” says Gerad Cassello, who owns Fitness Experts in downtown Naperville with Gary Singelton and Dusty Schlotfeld.
A recent customer of the elliptical bike stopped in the store specifically to thank Fitness Expert .
“He had a bad knee injury and couldn’t run anymore,” Cassello says. “The ElliptiGO lets him cover tens of miles, feel the speed, but is low-impact at the same time.”
ElliptiGo was envisioned by Bryan Pate of California, an Ironman athlete and avid cyclist, who suffered hip and knee injuries, and at the age of 32, was advised to perform low-impact exercises. When looking for exercise equipment for outdoor use, he found nothing. With his friend Brent Teal, a degreed mechanical engineer and a competitive athlete, the two designed the elliptical bicycle known as the ElliptiGO. Learn more about it at www.elliptigo.com.
Fitness Experts has been offering the three various speed models of ElliptiGO for about two years, prices start at $ 1,799. The elliptical bike can be rented for a trial run. Visit www.fitnessexperts.com to learn more.
