Two Brothers Brewing Company, with headquarters in Warrenville, already has a cult following since its inception by brothers Jim and Jason Ebel in 1996.
With eight year-around brews and seven seasonal beers, Two Brothers selection pleases the casual beer sipper as much as the serious suds connoisseur.
Many know the microbrewery’s flagship beers, Domaine DuPage and Ebel’s Weiss, but another beer is up and coming. It just might be the best introductory beer for those only acquiring a taste for what most likely is the world’s oldest fermented beverage.
“SideKick is an extra pale ale,” says Sabrah Hatch, communication and events coordinator for Two Brothers Brewing. “It’s definitely a good intro beer. And we just started distribution in bottles, not just cans.”
Hatch also says the beer often is described as having a light aroma of citrus hops.
But Two Brothers has a beer for every palate — complete with fun names.
“Our winter seasonal is called Night Cat. It’s a hoppy dark wheat beer. Malty smooth,” says Hatch of the beer with a hint of pine and citrus.

The microbrewery, soon expanding to Florida, is adding some serious machinery to up their production and improve the clarity and oxygen pick up of their beers, increasing flavor stability. Four new barrel fermenters were just installed for the holiday push, and a new state-of-the-art German centrifuge is in the works.
“Just in time,” Hatch says.
