Seeing a niche in the bustling business complex in Warrenville just north of I-88 The Gardener School, a private preschool, opened last March at 28W611 Ferry Rd., catering to working families from Naperville and surrounding areas.
Kerry Finnegan, executive school director at the Warrenville location, sums up the award-winning preschool: “The Gardner School is an academically focused preschool for children from 6 weeks old through private pre-Kindergarten (five years).”
The preschool differentiates itself most from other private institutions for its stringent teacher standards. “ All of our lead teacher are required to have a Bachelors Degree or higher in early childhood education or a closely related field,” Finnegan explains, adding that this greatly exceeds state requirements of only six college credits in the field.
The year-around preschool offers part-time and full-time programs depending on every family’s needs. “We mostly have full-timers but a few part-timers too. We cater to busy working families in the area,” states Finnegan. It accepts students from Naperville, Lisle, Warrenville, Wheaton, Winfield, Aurora and Oswego.
The school follows a comprehensive curriculum for infants, toddlers and two-year olds to help them grow towards later preschool stages and pre-K. More information on curriculum can be found atthegardnerschool.com/faqs.
The single story building can hold up to 200 students, and Finnegan says.
Although the official school year started last week the school is still accepting students.
