The highly anticipated Springbrook Animal Care Center opened in August at 2759 Forgue Drive.
Dr. Todd Prince, owner of Springbrook Animal Care Center and several other Chicago-area animal hospitals, and Drs. Tom Staudacher and Sandra Faeh are the team behind the facility that provides around-the-clock care. They like to call themselves “the pet experts.”
The list of services provided is long, starting with orthopedic surgeries to pet grooming and training.
“We do cater primarily to dogs and cats,” said Faeh, but pocket pets, birds and reptiles are equally welcome.
The new facility was designed by the award-winning studio Interior Planning & Design. President Joan Kaufman, an avid Feng Shui practitioner, put extra care into the “aesthetically stunning environment constructed with sustainable materials designed to promote health,” according to a press release.
“We wanted to create something that is not just attractive but also calming,” said Kaufman, of creating a warm and natural look with lots of natural lighting.
Faeh said their goal was accomplished.
“Working and caring in an environment that is so pleasing makes our job easier, makes pet owners feel safe, and that makes our patients, the pets, feel comfortable,” she said.
Visit their website, www.springbrookanimalcarecenter.com, for a tour of this energy-efficient building, which includes “recycling, water reuse, solar heating and cooling, rainwater collection, aquaponics and bio-digestion.”
Celebrating 50 years and a move
Charles Vincent George Architects, founded in 1962 by a retired Chuck George, recently celebrated its 50th anniversary, and with it, a move to a bigger location at 1245 E. Diehl Road in Naperville.
“CVG (Charles Vincent George) Architects serves both residential and commercial design clients, and therefore, our offices needed a design style that would speak to both types of clients,” says Bruce George, president and son of founder Chuck George.
The firm, previously at 604 S. Washington St., created the master plan for Naperville’s Riverwalk, The Millennium Carillon, and hundreds of homes and community buildings in the last 50 years.
“We are known for our quality high-end custom residential work that sets the mark for quality standards in the western suburbs,” Bruce George says. “We also specialize in banking facility design and recreational facility design among other work that we are known for.”
CVG Architects has donated numerous hours and designs to the local community during the past five decades.
“Naperville even back then was a community with a lot going on and the prospects for building and development were substantial,” adds Bruce George, thanking a community that has allowed the firm to prosper.
Headache treatment center opens
Earlier this year neurologist David S. Larsen opened the Center for Headache Medicine, at 3351 Hobson Road, suite A, in Woodridge, a clinic specializing in the treatment of migraines and headaches.
Dr. Larsen has spent decades treating patients with headaches and migraines, and was one of the first to use Botox as a treatment in 1998.
“Without the help of a headache specialist, you risk the danger of medication overuse headaches (MOH), which over time, can transform your headaches into daily or almost daily occurrences,” states the press release.
“He is associated with Edward Hospital and wanted to stay close by,” says Lil Castro, Larsen’s assistant, about the clinic’s location.
Larsen previously had offices in La Grange and Naperville before opening this highly specialized clinic.
