Ladislav “Laddie” C. Fromelius of Naperville was arrested by the Lisle Police Department Tuesday on charges of hiring someone to assault the executor of an estate to which Fromelius was a beneficiary.

The arrest came about as a result of a two-month investigation, according to a police report.

Fromelius, of 1519 Watkins Lane, #105, was arrested after he allegedly arranged to hire an individual who was actually an undercover police officer. Fromelius paid $1,000 to the undercover officer, the report said, with an understanding that another $1,000 would be paid after the attack was committed.

After the arrest, a search was conducted at two of Fromelius’ residences, where numerous firearms and other weapons were recovered.

Fromelius has been charged with solicitation to commit armed violence, a felony, and with two misdemeanor charges: solicitation to commit aggravated battery and solicitation to commit intimidation.

Fromelius is being held at the DuPage County Jail on $1 million bond.
