Police report: Hit and run

These are incidents reported by the Naperville Police Department. Where charges have been filed, the reports include when and where the suspect was stopped or taken into custody and the nature of the charges.

Thursday, Sept. 30

1Hit and run: Between 7 and 9:15 p.m., driver of hit and run vehicle struck and damaged city of Naperville guardrail and two traffic signs near 95th Street and Wolfs Crossing Road.

Friday, Oct. 1

2Vehicle burglary: Between 11 p.m. Sept. 30 and 6 a.m., wireless telephone ear piece and $10 in coins stolen from vehicle parked outside home on 100 block of Cassin Road.

Saturday, Oct. 2

3Driving under the influence: Laura C. Gasparas, 26, Plainfield; 2:32 a.m. near 87th and Washington streets; charged with two counts of DUI and one count of improper lane use.

4Suspended license: Emiliano Galvan, 54, Woodridge; 3:37 a.m. near 75th Street and Rickert Drive; charged with driving while license suspended and failure to signal.

5DUI: Jon G. Walgren, 52, 200 block of Bay Colony Drive; 5:26 a.m. near 87th Street and Clyde Drive; charged with two counts of DUI and one count each of making improper turn at intersection and improper lane use.

6Disorderly conduct: About 10 a.m., resident of 700 block of Benedetti Drive found note stating she would be burned for “miss conduct”; woman said she believes note written by recently evicted neighbor.

7Hit and run: Between 1:15 and 1:30 p.m., driver of hit and run vehicle struck and damaged 2008 Toyota Sienna parked in lot outside Portillo’s Hot Dogs, 950 E. Ogden Ave.

8DUI: David J. Zdenovec, 43, Aurora; 10:37 p.m. near Maplefield and Plainfield-Naperville roads; charged with driving under the influence of drugs, possession of a controlled substance and driving with an expired registration.

9Property damage: About 10:49 p.m., piece of stained glass broken after raw eggs were hurled and shattered against front of home on 900 block of Rockbridge Drive.

10Marijuana possession: Ngoc H. Le, 19, Aurora; 11:41 p.m. near North Aurora Road and Route 59; charged with possession of less than 2.5 grams cannabis and speeding; passengers Jeremy A. Willis, 21, Aurora, charged with possession of between 2.5 and 10 grams cannabis; and Karina Rocha, 21, Aurora, charged with possession of less than 2.5 grams cannabis.

Sunday, Oct. 3

11Suspended license: William Moore, 60, Chicago; 12:01 a.m. near Meridian Parkway and Route 59, Aurora; charged with driving while license suspended and driving without insurance; also wanted on a warrant.

12Fighting: Jason W. Heckler, 23, 200 block of East Fifth Avenue; and Brandon S. Fox, 25, Wilmington; 12:17 a.m. at BlackFinn American Saloon, 16 W. Jefferson Ave.; charged with fighting.

13Battery: Timothy C. Lillie, 23, and Tasha A. Lillie, 22, both of West Chicago; 1:30 a.m. at BlackFinn American Saloon, 16 W. Jefferson Ave.; charged with battery; Tasha Lillie also charged with battery causing great bodily harm.

14Fighting: Joel A. Billstrom, 22, St. Charles; 1:50 a.m. at BlackFinn American Saloon, 16 W. Jefferson Ave.; charged with fighting.

15Fighting: Wesley A. Kostellic, 25, and Derik D. Kostellic, 22, both of Oglesby; 1:50 a.m. at Rizzo’s, 6 W. Jefferson Ave.; charged with fighting with each other.

16Battery: Jonathan A. Penninger, 21, St. Charles; 2:02 a.m. at BlackFinn American Saloon, 16 W. Jefferson Ave.; charged with battery.

17DUI: Bradley J. Taylor, 22, Warrenville; 4:49 a.m. near Mill Race and Harris lanes; charged with DUI after being stopped for disregarding stop sign.

18DUI: Ryan P. Kingsmill, 35, Yorkville; 4:51 a.m. outside McDonald’s, 1520 N. Naper Blvd.; charged with two counts of DUI and one count of unauthorized use of handicapped parking space, after being found unconscious at wheel of truck in parking lot.

19Theft of labor or services: About 5:23 a.m., taxicab driver reported picking up passenger in Chicago and driving to Naperville, with passenger leaping out of cab and fleeing near Riverlea Circle and Cassin Road without paying his $99 fare.

20Hit and run: About 8:22 a.m., driver of hit and run vehicle struck and damaged merge traffic sign near East Warrenville Road and Freedom Drive.

21Stolen vehicle recovery: About 8:32 a.m., red 2010 Toyota Corolla reported stolen in July from Plainfield car rental agency recovered in parking lot of Extended Stay America, 1575 Bond St.

22Order of protection violation: Stoney Barksdale, 48, Woodridge; 3:15 p.m. on 400 block of East Bailey Road; charged with violating order of protection.

23Suspended license: Dominga Osorio, 29, Aurora; 10:53 p.m. near Ogden Avenue and Fort Hill Drive; charged with driving while license suspended.

Monday, Oct. 4

24Burglary: Between 7:50 and 8 a.m., laptop computer stolen via unlocked door of home on 1500 block of Watkins Lane.

25Hit and run: About 8 a.m., motorist reported his driver-side rearview mirror struck and damaged by hit and run vehicle as they passed one another in opposite directions near Quincy and Ogden avenues.

26Found property: About 9:09 a.m., police recovered bicycle abandoned in wooded area near Dunrobin Road and Naper Boulevard.

27Suspicious incident: About 10:25 a.m., man reported he was walking dog near old Frank’s Nursery & Craft store, Aurora and Ogden avenues, and saw items being tossed to pavement by occupant of brown sport utility vehicle; man retrieved items, which appeared to be property stolen during vehicle burglaries.

28Suspicious incident: About 12:13 p.m., resident of 900 block of Elm Court reported finding garage door open and dogs running loose.

29Improper backing: Corrine M. Sitler, age not provided, Naperville; 2:40 p.m. near Redstart Road and Washington Street; charged with improper backing after attempting to pull out into traffic on Washington Street and then backing vehicle into vehicle behind her.

30Improper lane use: Mitchell T. Raridon, age and hometown not provided; 2:40 p.m. near Hillside Road and Brainard Street; charged with improper lane use after driving around line of school buses, cutting one off and being rear-ended by second bus.

31Theft: Between 2 and 2:50 p.m., teenage girl’s purse containing wireless telephone and other items stolen from beneath bench in girls locker room at Lincoln Junior High School, 1320 Olympus Drive.

32Found property: About 3:39 p.m., 9-year-old girl turned in to police what appeared to be Mexican peso note found on Lilac Lane.

33Vehicle damage: Between 2:15 and 4 p.m., sharp object used to etch scratches into finish of vehicle parked in south garage of Edward Hospital, 801 S. Washington St.

34Shoplifting: Ernesto Perez-Gomez, 39, 20 block of North Main Street; 5:03 p.m. at Jewel-Osco, 127 E. Ogden Ave.; charged with retail theft for second time in three days.

35Failure to reduce speed: Meredith A. Schauer, age and hometown not provided; 5:30 p.m. near 75th Street and Gartner Road; charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident/driving too fast for conditions, after her vehicle rear-ended another.

36Suspended license: Keith S. Nash, 43, 800 block of Corday Drive; 9:14 p.m. near Emerson Lane and Corday Drive; charged with driving while license suspended and driving with broken rear license plate light.

37Unlicensed driver: Isidro Cervantez, 24, Chicago; 10:22 p.m. near Ogden Avenue and Route 59; charged with driving without a license, driving with defective side or rear window or windshield and failure to dim headlights for oncoming vehicle.
