The search to permanently replace former Naperville Library Executive Director John Spears has come to a quick resolution.
The Naperville Library Board decided Wednesday night that the right person for the job was already at hand.
Deputy Director Julie Rothenfluh, who was named interim director after Spears took a job in Utah earlier this summer, was named new executive director Wednesday night followed a closed executive session of the board.
Board President Sandy Benson said, based on the national search conducted just two years ago, the board felt Rothenfluh was the right person for the job.
“Julie is an outstanding candidate, and she was one of the finalists two years ago,” Benson said. “We felt the best thing for the library was to have a seamless transition, and we have that with Julie. All of us are very excited about this.”
Rothenfluh will receive a compensation package worth a total of $140,000.
