Residents of the 11th Congressional District are invited to gatherings Monday in Joliet and Naperville to share their thoughts on reducing the federal budget deficit.
U.S. Rep. Bill Foster, D-Naperville, will host an interactive budget exercise in conjunction with the nonpartisan Concord Coalition, according to a news release from Foster’s office.
Residents working in groups of five to 10 will have the opportunity to suggest policies to reduce the deficit and improve the long-term fiscal outlook for the country, the release said.
“As we work to find long-term budget solutions in Congress, I look forward to having a dialogue about our priorities for our community and our country,” Foster said in the release.
The events are scheduled for 9 to 11 a.m. in the Health Professions Center auditorium at Joliet Junior College, 1215 Houbolt Road, Joliet; and from 1 to 3 p.m. at Calvary Church, 9S200 Route 59, Naperville.
The events are free, but space is limited, the release said. To RSVP, call Foster’s district office in Joliet at 815-280-5876 or in Aurora at 630-585-7672.
