There is no word yet on how massive worldwide job cuts at Alcatel-Lucent SA may impact its facility in Naperville.
In a press release Tuesday, the company announced that it would cut 10,000 jobs around the globe due to declining revenue.
All geographic areas where Alcatel-Lucent operates will see cuts, with the reduction of 4,100 positions in Europe, Middle East and Africa, 3,800 in Asia Pacific and 2,100 in the Americas.
“For us, the Americas is Canada, the U.S. and our Latin American operations,” said spokeswoman Denise Panyik-Dale, who is based in Lucent’s New Jersey corporate hub.
Additional details, including where in the Americas the pink slips will be distributed, are not yet being shared, Panyik-Dale said.
